Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.

Our Reasoning II

In What do I Trust?

Proverbs 3:5 NAS Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

Yeshua (Jesus) the greatest commandment

Luke 10:27 … "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself."

We use our mind to reason and sort out the good from the evil. Ever since man partook of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil we mistakenly think, by our own reasoning, that each of us has the ability to make right decisions; as in Gen 3:6 When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate… This was the first sin, disobedience to the Creator’s instruction, which barred them from the tree of life and the result is death.

Because man failed the first test and obeyed the deceiver, we continue to make faulty decisions today. The truth is we cannot trust our own reasoning

Gen 6:5 Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Isa 65:2 "… Who walk in the way which is not good, following their own thoughts,

Rom 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

1John 3:8 the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

Reasoning

Webster 1828 (edited for length)

RE'ASONING, n, arguing; deducing inferences from premises; debating; discussing.

The act or process of exercising the faculty of reason; that act or operation of the mind by which new or unknown propositions are deduced from previous ones which are known and evident, or which are admitted or supposed for the sake of argument; argumentation; ratiocination; as fair reasoning; false reasoning; absurd reasoning; strong or weak reasoning.

It seems that everything depends on what the mind is set on

Rom 8:6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, 7 because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so

The last time we focused on the mind set on the flesh, which is hostile toward God and leads to death. Now we want to focus on the mind set on the Spirit - leading to life and peace.

Where can we get the help, we need to make Godly, honest, right and wise, decisions?

Start here - Read it -Trust it

Mark 13:31 "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

Rom 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Realize we have a sin nature and need to seek the help of the LORD (YHVH)

David understood the solution

1Chr 28:9 "As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind; for the LORD searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.

Our Maker says:

Isa 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the LORD, And He will have compassion on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. 8 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Neither are your ways My ways," declares the LORD.

Therefore

Heb 10:16 "This is the covenant that I will make with them After those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws upon their heart, And upon their mind I will write them,"

Isa 1:18 "Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD, "Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool.

1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1John 3:8 the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

Why

John 3:5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God (eternal life). 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Jas 3:17 …the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.

The goal

Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

Eph 4:23 and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind

1Cor 2:16 (That) we have the mind of Christ

How can this transformation and the will of our God be achieved? Read the section "I will be with you"

Our thoughts must be re-directed

Luke 12:22 And He said to His disciples, "For this reason I say to you, do not be anxious for your life, as to what you shall eat; nor for your body, as to what you shall put on. 23 For life is more than food, and the body than clothing. 24 Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap; and they have no storeroom nor barn; and yet God feeds them; how much more valuable you are than the birds! 25 And which of you by being anxious can add a single cubit to his life's span? 26 If then you cannot do even a very little thing, why are you anxious about other matters? 27 Consider the lilies, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory did not clothe himself like one of these. 28 But if God so arrays the grass in the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you, O men of little faith! 29 And do not seek what you shall eat, and what you shall drink, and do not keep worrying. 30 For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but your Father knows that you need these things.

Thus, we should pray

Ps 139:23 NAS Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; 24 And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.

Commanded to Love

1Cor 13:8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11 (Just like) When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 12 (so) For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. 13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

1John 3:1 See how great a love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God; and such we are…

Empowered

2Tim 1:6 And for this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you

Admonition

Heb 2:1 For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.

2Pet 1:5 Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge; 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. 8 For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.

Rom 12:16 Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.

Phil 2:3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself;

Phil 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.

Finally

Col 3:2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.

And Pray

Ps 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Thy sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.

Our Creator desires us to be like Him - in mind and thought - to be righteous as He is righteous.

Proverbs

Whom do we Trust?

Proverbs 22:19 So that your trust may be in the LORD, I have taught you today, even you.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

Saying(s)

"To-day man is, and to-morrow he will be seen no more. And being removed out of sight, quickly also he is out of mind. O the dullness and hardness of man's heart, which thinketh only of the present, and looks not forward to the future. Thou ought in every deed and thought so to order thyself, as if thou wert to die this day."

Kempis, The Imitation of Christ

I Will be with You

Here is our Hope - Our Salvation - Our Purpose and Peace of Mind

Josh 24:15 "… choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: … but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."

Deut 31:6 "Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid …for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. "

Matt 28:20 …and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

John 14:16 "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17 that is the Spirit of truth… because He abides with you, and will be in you.

John 14:18 "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

John 14:23 Jesus answered him, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

John 17:22 "…that they may be one, just as We are one; 23 … that they may be perfected in unity…

John 17:26 …that the love wherewith Thou didst love Me may be in them, and I in them."

1John 1:3 … indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.

Rom 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who indwells you.

Col 1:27 to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

1Pet 3:15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;

2Cor 13:5 Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you -- unless indeed you fail the test?

1Cor 15:57 but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world -- our faith.

Now ask yourself, "How do I handle these promises?" can I trust them?

Did you know?

On Aug 4th ,2013 Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, addressed the Duma, (Russian Parliament), and gave a speech about the tensions with minorities in Russia:

"In Russia, live like Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia, to work and eat in Russia, should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws. If they prefer Sharia Law and live the life of Muslim's then we advise them to go to those places where that's the state law.

Russia does not need Muslim minorities. Minorities need Russia, and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell 'discrimination'.

We will not tolerate disrespect of our Russian culture. We better learn from the suicides of America, England, Holland and France, if we are to survive as a nation.   The Muslims are taking over those countries and they will not take over Russia.

The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture or the primitive ways of Sharia Law and Muslims.

When this honorable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, it should have in mind the Russian national interest first, observing that the Muslims Minorities Are Not Russians."

The politicians in the Duma gave Putin a five-minute standing ovation.

It is a sad day when a Communist leader makes more sense than Christians do when they accept the Kingdom of God.

Lighter Side?

Got Milk?

I live on a farm and times are hard as the area I live in is considered economically depressed.

It's so bad, that I've heard some of our neighbors were having a hard time making ends meet.

This morning, I woke up to hear a knock at the door. When I went to answer the door -- this is the sad sight that I saw. It just about broke my heart...!!

Life in Messiah

Do you know anyone whose philosophy of life is to eat, drink, and be merry (while we can) for tomorrow we die? The Bible response to this is, "Thou fool, for this night your soul will be required of you". The certainty of death is unavoidable. Should it be considered a reason to engage in as much self-indulgence as possible while there is opportunity, or to live your life in the awareness of the reality of eternity that lies beyond? These are two dramatically different views of reality that result in different value systems and different behaviors. The guidance from the Bible is clear - you benefit from taking the long-range view.

You should be wary of doctrines developed from a few isolated scriptures and a lot of complex reasoning. For no scripture is of a private interpretation. If God had something important to tell you, would He bury it, or present it in vague or ambiguous terms? God is not the author of confusion. Things that are important are present in clear and simple terms. We are invited to search the scriptures daily, and compare one verse with another, but be careful that you do not stray from the simplicity of The Word.

Psalms

The Thinking Mind will Trust in God

Psalm 31:14 But as for me, I trust in Thee, O LORD, I say, "Thou art my God."

Psalm 40:4 How blessed is the man who has made the LORD his trust, and has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood.

Psalm 143:8 Let me hear Thy lovingkindness in the morning; For I trust in Thee; Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to Thee I lift up my soul.

Blessed be YHVH (Genesis 14:20 And blessed be God Most High…)
